I am a runner. A cyclist. A swimmer. A newly-minted yoga instructor with a new-found and great passion for the practice. I lift weights like it’s my job (oh, wait, it is). I am a multi-sport endurance athlete who loves every aspect of the fit lifestyle. I love being, strong, fast, and flexible (ok, so I’m working on the flexible part). I love cheeseburgers and french fries, broccoli, kidney beans, ice cream, and peppermint patties. I am not afraid of who I am or the way I do things. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Exercise Science with a concentration in strength & conditioning; I have a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in applied sport science. I am a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Certified Level I Track & Field Coach with USA Track & Field, and a Certified Level I Swim Coach with the American Swimming Coaches Association. In 2011 I started work on a PhD in Human Performance, with a concentration in Motor Learning & Control (whether or not I’ll ever get to finish remains up in the air – that whole financial deal). I have completed the Mind Body Specialist certification through ACE, so I am now officially able to teach yoga. This year (2015!) I begin the journey to becoming a Registered Yoga Teacher.

I have a background in distance running, as I started with cross-country when I was in seventh grade. I had a short stint as a Division I cross-country and track runner, until turning my hand over to triathlons in 2005. I will be competing in my first Ironman in Lake Placid in July of 2015. Here is my journey. My story. My life (and my take on everything therein).
If you are new to my blog, I encourage you to peruse my first post – With Gratitude – to give you a sense of just what, exactly, this is all about, how it came about, and who I do this for.
Nice blog Tina! I’m learning so much about you since I never see you anymore! I’ll have to hear more about your hip issues. Yea! Yoga! I need to find a class that fits my work schd. Maybe a DVD is the way to go like you!! Good luck on your journey!
